Straight answers to the questions we'd ask ourselves if we were you.

Trust & Legitimacy

Is this a scam?

No. Restored Domains is operated by Chesco Ventures, LLC, a Pennsylvania-registered company formed in 2026 as an umbrella for a handful of small, entrepreneurial business ventures. The company is domiciled through Northwest Registered Agent, LLC in Erie, PA, and is based in Oxford, PA. It's owned by Steve Wrightstone, a 30-plus-year veteran of the insurance industry who's building out additional business assets. As part of our initial outreach to you, we'll include direct contact information — feel free to call and verify who we are before doing anything else. And as always, every sale runs through a licensed third-party escrow service, so you're never asked to send payment directly to us.

How do I verify you actually own this domain?

A public WHOIS lookup will confirm which registrar the domain is with and its current registration status. For direct confirmation of ownership, we'll include a phone number as part of our initial outreach to you, and we'd encourage you to call before moving forward with anything. That's the fastest, most reliable way to verify who you're dealing with.

Why did you contact me specifically?

We generally acquire domains whose registrations have expired from active internet use. Most are offered for sale publicly through one of the aftermarket domain vendors (Sedo, GoDaddy, Afternic, others). Before putting the domain up for public sale, we look to see if there are specific businesses or organizations where the domain name would fit their endeavors. When an obvious match occurs, because of name or industry similarity, we will try to reach out to that organization to see if they are interested. We go the direct route when possible to minimize selling costs so we can offer domains at lower prices.

How did you acquire this domain?

There are hundreds of thousands of domain names that expire each week. Most of those domains are generally useless to anyone else, with names that are all numbers, random, or obscure. We spend time searching through the haystack of domains for useful or interesting names and attempt to acquire them through after-expiration purchase or one of the domain auction services. We then try to restore those names to use by offering them to interested parties.

Who is Chesco Ventures / Restored Domains?

See our About page for information on our company.

The Transaction

How does payment and escrow work?

Every sale goes through Escrow.com. Your payment is held by them, not by us, until the domain has been transferred and you've confirmed receipt. See our full How a Purchase Works page for the step-by-step.

What happens if I pay and something goes wrong?

Your funds stay with Escrow.com until the transfer is confirmed on your end. Nothing is released to us until you're satisfied the domain has been properly transferred.

Do you negotiate on price?

While we believe our listed prices reflect fair market value, we are open to reasonable offers.

What if I want to make an offer instead of paying the listed price?

Email us at Hello@restoreddomains.com with your offer. We will evaluate your offer and respond within 1 to 2 days.

Are there any fees besides the purchase price?

The escrow fee charged by Escrow.com is covered by the buyer. Any fees to transfer the domain to you are paid by us. There are no additional fees from Restored Domains.

What exactly am I buying — just the domain, or any assets of the site?

You're purchasing the domain name registration only. Any content, design, or material currently appearing on the domain is not included unless we state otherwise in writing. Full details are in our Terms of Service.

After the Sale

How long does the transfer take?

Typically up to 2 weeks from agreed terms to completed transfer, most of it driven by payment clearing and registrar processing.

What if I'm not familiar with transferring a domain — will you help?

Yes. We walk you through every step, and nothing is final until the domain has landed in your account and you've confirmed it. See How a Purchase Works for a plain-language breakdown of the transfer step.

Can I use this domain right away, or are there restrictions?

Unless there are restrictions from your registrar or hosting company, the domain should be available for your use as soon as the transfer is complete.

Do you offer any guarantee if there's an issue after transfer?

We do not offer any guarantees after the transfer is complete, as we no longer have control of or access to the domain at that point. Please do any due diligence on the domain prior to purchasing.

Practical

Can I buy more than one domain from you at once?

Yes.

Do you work with brokers, or is it always direct?

Other than domains listed on aftermarket sale sites, we generally work directly with the potential domain buyer.

Do you sell domains other than the one I was contacted about?

Yes. We generally have a small inventory of available domain names that we are planning to market. If you are interested in other domains that we may have available, let us know via email at Hello@restoreddomains.com.

I'm not interested — how do I stop future emails?

Just reply to our email to you with "Not interested" and you'll never hear from us again. We are committed to respectful interactions with the people we market to and have no desire to become a nuisance. We will never provide your name or email to another party other than as part of a domain transaction.
